Part of grant by the USDA-NRCS called Data Intensive Farm Management (DIFM) project. This project has two main components - first, to enable farmers to design their own field experiments, optimizing management decisions for local conditions. Second, to help explain what these decisions are, accounting for environmental and economic conditions, the range of possible weather, and other factors. This requires designing a user-interface around explaining machine learning and artificial intelligence model output to non-experts, to build trust in the model predictions without requiring farmers to learn the details of statistical modeling. I have built the user interface to help farmers design their own field trials and will be working on the decision tool interface.
